Eric Mintzer, DDS

General & Cosmetic Dentist

Dr. Eric Mintzer, our chief dentist at NoHo Family Dentistry is a native Angelino, having grown up in nearby Sherman Oaks.  He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and University of Southern California School of Dentistry, and has over 34 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry.  He is also the son of the late Hershel Mintzer DDS, a pioneering San Fernando Valley dentist and USC Dental Professor.

One of Dr. Mintzer’s main motivations in pursuing dentistry was based on the influence of his  father.  The senior Dr. Mintzer loved what he did.  He was extremely dedicated to his profession and his patients.

Dr. Eric Mintzer tries to model his philosophy of dentistry around his father’s. In his spare time, Dr. Mintzer is an avid photographer; many of his most interesting pictures taken from travels across the US are hung in the office’s waiting room.  He is also a life-long, die-hard Laker and Dodger fan.

In 2014, Dr. Dakessian pursued her dream of becoming an endodontist. She completed an Advanced Specialty Certificate in Endodontics in Los Angeles at the prestigious University of Southern California Dental School in 2016.

Kimberly was a natural to take over as office manager nine years ago.  The niece of our former dental assistant, as a teenager, Kim worked part-time every summer for the practice, doing extra filing, greeting patients and answering the phone.

Kim says that she especially enjoys the family atmosphere of the practice, greeting and catching up with patients she has come to know over the years.  A native of Guatemala who grew up in Southern California, Kim is proud to have become a US citizen in 2015.  She and her husband share a passion for dogs; they have two rescues at home, Oliver and Kahleesi, and regularly volunteer at the Eloise Pet Rescue in Hollywood.

Rosie was Dr. Mintzer’s dental assistant for four years in the early 2000s, before marrying and retiring to become a stay at home mom, eventually to two boys and two girls.  With her youngest now in school, she returned to the practice in 2014.  Rosie says that her favorite part of dental assisting is talking with the patients.

Rosie likes to spend what free time she has, volunteering at her children’s schools.
